"The car was great and just what I needed. Your staff member was all organised. You had limited notice and I had would have understood if there had been a delay. But no every thing was great."

The event just keeps on keeping on from its success when it won the New Zealand Event Professionals "Best Established Event" for 2008. For those that are new to The Forrest Grape Ride the long course traverses a 101km circuit through some of the most stunning scenery New Zealand has to offer. From the Forrest Estate Winery stone wall in the capital of the New Zealand wine industry, Renwick, it’s a flat route to Blenheim. Riders then head north and gently climb into Picton with an exhilarating descent into the centre of the town. Climbing out of Picton, the route follows the picturesque Queen Charlotte Drive around the head of Queen Charlotte and Pelorus Sounds, literally a ride through nature’s photo album. The stunning scenery of Ngakuta and Momorangi Bays passes as the ride winds and twists to The Grove. A flat ride to Linkwater leads onto Mahakipawa Hill and more breath taking scenery, followed by a descent to the outskirts of the mussel capital, Havelock. A left turn onto SH 6 and it’s homeward bound across gently rolling terrain, hopefully with the prevailing breeze at your back (we hope) and home to Renwick. Off the bike and you’re in the grapes with our celebrity guests, treading grapes for processing into an exclusive Forrest Wines vintage for next year’s event.
The Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon takes participants on a 21.1km journey of Marlborough wine, taking you between the rows of Marlborough's vineyards for a unique chance to get up close and personal with Marlborough's famous Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes.
For one day a year 25 generous Marlborough landowners grant us access through their properties and give you the opportunity to run, walk and soak up the vistas of Marlborough's Wairau Valley.
The 21.1km off-road run or walk captures the very essence of Marlborough: vines for miles, stunning scenery and the golden hues of autumn. Previous participants often cite the 5km section along the banks of the Wairau River as a highlight. As you make your way around the Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon course, you’ll pass through vineyards owned by some of Marlborough’s best known wine companies, including:• Saint Clair Family Estate • Cloudy Bay • Wither Hills • Allan Scott Family Estate • Wairau River Wines • Starborough • Morton Estate Ltd • Babich Wines • Stoneleigh • Drylands • Giesen Wines
Following your journey you’ll be rewarded with a trophy bottle of Saint Clair Family Estate wine (but only if you're over 18 years of age!), and a booklet that tells the story of Marlborough wine in a little more detail. And in the evening you can reward your achievement at ‘The Finishing Toast’ – a celebration of delicious Marlborough food and wine and some great music.
