Dynamic duo take dux
Two Marlborough Boys' College students were named dux at the school's end-of-year prizegiving today, something which has not happened since 1978.

It is now officially out that Hopewell Lodge has just received their award for 2011/12 BBH World Traveller Accommodation in New Zealand. They have been awarded First Place in the Category of 21 to 40 beds and have also achieved New Zealand's highest rating overall of 99%. 4366 travellers participated in the February 2011 BBH Survey to determine the current rating. It is based on the feedback from people who have stayed and used the facilities. Marlborough’s Hopewell Lodge has now been awarded First Place in NZ nine times in the last ten years.

KiwiRail’s new scenic carriages entered service on the Coastal Pacific train between Christchurch and Picton this week.
The new carriages feature 52sq m of glass in panoramic side and roof windows, ceilingmounted HD screens, GPS triggered commentary in a choice of five languages, and new café cars. The new carriages mark a significant step towards a more modern, sophisticated service.
